About Me

Victoria Kirby (she/her) BA (honours), Msc, Msc, MBACP (Accred)

I have a Masters in Therapeutic Counselling from the University of Greenwich and a Masters in Public Health from Leeds Metropolitan University. I studied Psychology at the University of Newcastle and received a BA Honours degree.

After training in integrative therapy at the University of Greenwich, I completed the Internal Family Systems (IFS) training accredited by the IFS Institute.

I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Learn more about my therapeutic approach here.

For a number of years, I worked for a large teaching hospital in central London, where I coordinated a specialist counselling service supporting people with issues related to sex, sexuality and sexual diversity.

I now offer sex and relationship therapy in my private practice. I have an advanced accreditation as a Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversities Therapist awarded by Pink Therapy. I practice queer affirmative therapy. I work with individuals, couples and multi-partnerships. I have completed the Internal Family Systems Couple’s training approved by the IFS Institute and the Gottman Institute relationships training levels one and two.

In addition to my core training, I have undertaken additional CDP training courses in Mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Hakomi body psychotherapy, Working with Non-monogamy and Working with Kink. I have completed Transformational Skills Facilitator training and meditation teacher training. I have undertaken the full EMDR training accredited by the EMDR Association UK. I incorporate an understanding of the impact of trauma on the nervous system and the importance of nervous system regulation in both my individual and couples’ work.

I design training and resources for other professionals.

Before training as a therapist, I worked in public health roles within the NHS. I was the Sex and Relationships Young People’s Lead in South West Yorkshire, and later a Senior Sexual Health Promotion Specialist in South London, where I led on work with men who have sex with men (MSM) and gender-diverse people assigned male at birth. In these roles, I developed and delivered training, contributed to policy and strategy, created educational materials, and led campaigns aimed at improving both sexual and mental health.

This work was grounded in a commitment to addressing health inequalities and gave me a deep understanding of how social and political factors shape both physical and psychological wellbeing. I bring this awareness into my therapeutic practice, supporting clients with a sensitivity to the broader contexts that influence their lives.
